Alabaré are looking to recruit a Full-time and a part-time Young Persons Support Worker based in Salisbury. Shifts will include days, nights, weekend, bank holidays and sleep ins. This exciting position will provide support and advice around accommodation, basic life skills, welfare benefits, health and personal issues: all allowing service users to work towards independent living.

Job Specifics:

  • Hourly rate £12.70 rising to £12.88 after completing a successful probation period.
  • Full-time annual salary of £24,765.00 rising to £25,116.00.
  • 22.5 or 37.5 hours per week available covering various days, nights, weekends and sleep ins to meet the needs of the service.

Benefits:

  • Double time on nominated bank holidays.
  • Minimum of 24 days holiday (FTE) plus Bank Holidays.
  • Paid travel time with mileage paid at 45p per mile.

  • Where applicable, Sleepovers are paid at a competitive rate of £70 per sleep.

  • Refer a friend scheme, £150 on joining and a further payment of £150 after 6 months service.

In return for this, we are looking for someone who has:

  • A Willingness to learn.
  • You must be currently resident in the UK.
  • You must have the right to work in the UK.
  • You must be confident working as part of a team and on your own.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Can maintain professional boundaries at all times.
  • You must be friendly and well-organised with an excellent work ethic.
  • We require someone with a listening ear and willingness to see a task through to the end.
  • An understanding of when and where to signpost is essential.
  • Previous experience of working in housing or with young people or children would be advantageous.
  • Car driver essential with access to a road worthy vehicle and business insurance.

Alabaré are committed to ensuring the well-being and safety of all our service users, this includes developing, implementing and maintaining effective recruitment policies and procedures to promote the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Before commencing employment, the HR Department undertakes pre-employment checks on all applicants who have been offered a job with the Charity. These checks include an Enhanced DBS, which will be renewed every 3 years, the right to live and work in the UK, as well as two satisfactory references.

All staff will be required to complete training on Safeguarding Adults and Young People within their first week of employment.
