Join Southern Water, a pioneer in water and waste management services, as a Wastewater Governance & Assurance Lead. Partnering with the Wastewater Governance & Assurance Manager, you'll be part of a team who spearhead first line assurance within the Wastewater directorate. Your expertise will shape the development, enhancement, and maintenance of control systems ensuring strict compliance with regulatory standards. In this role, you'll work closely with the regulator during EA Alignment review meetings, analysing and reconciling data, and providing consistent performance information including pollution forecasting and analysis to the Directorate, shareholders, regulators and the wider Southern Water business. By undertaking detailed analysis of data to diagnose potential faults and recommend modifications, you will ensure compliance and direct appropriate action, effectively communicating with all levels of WW field teams and resolving complex operational problems. This role is crucial in the drive to reduce Wastewater Compliance Failure & Pollution incidents, supporting Southern Water's commitment to excellence in compliance and governance. You will also support with providing first line assurance for the data within Wastewater regulatory reports e.g., the Annual Spill Report, Bathing Water, OFWAT Compliance Framework (ORF). You'll facilitate the delivery of assurance for Wastewater regulatory commitments e.g., Pollutions, flooding events and spill reporting, ensuring compliance for both internal and regulatory reporting (OFWAT & EA) while liaising with internal teams to drive appropriate action based on assurance outcomes. Your responsibilities will also include responding to regulatory data requests to ensure consistency and accuracy, and supporting the analysis and coordination of regular assurance activities, including the provision of Section 19 assurance and identifying and driving improvements in processes, providing support for the Wastewater Directorate. To excel in this position, you should have knowledge or understanding Wastewater operational activities and environmental risks, excellent analytical skills and the ability to write technical reports that meet regulatory standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications is essential, as is the capability to apply logical, structured, and adaptable problem-solving skills to meet changing business demands.
