Job Summary: We are seeking a strategic and technically proficient Manager of Workday Architects to lead and oversee the architecture and governance of our Workday platform. This role will be responsible for managing a team of Workday architects and ensuring the design, integration, and performance of the Workday infrastructure aligns with business goals and technology standards. The ideal candidate brings deep Workday expertise, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for driving innovation across HR technologies. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Governance Lead and mentor a team of Workday architects supporting Core HCM, Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, Learning, Benefits, and Absence modules. • Define and enforce architecture standards, development practices, and integration patterns across Workday implementations. • Partner with stakeholders across HR, IT, Finance, and business units to align Workday strategy with enterprise goals. • Chair the Workday Design Authority or Governance Board, ensuring design consistency and solution quality. • Own the Workday roadmap and manage architectural debt and long-term scalability concerns. Strategic Planning & Delivery • Translate business goals into scalable, maintainable, and secure Workday configurations and extensions. • Guide project teams on architectural decisions, data governance, and integration designs (e.g., with payroll, finance, and identity management systems). • Lead technical planning for Workday feature releases and ensure value realization from new capabilities. • Collaborate with change management and business analysts to ensure adoption and training are addressed in tandem with system design. Technical Oversight • Serve as the final escalation point for complex Workday architecture issues. • Oversee Workday Studio, EIBs, calculated fields, security configuration, and business process design. • Ensure effective use of APIs, Workday Extend, and integration with third-party tools. • Maintain security, compliance, and audit readiness across all modules. People Management • Set goals and development plans for the architecture team. • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and coaching. • Support workload prioritization, capacity planning, and skills development. Qualifications: Required: 7+ years of experience with Workday, including architectural or solution design roles. • 2+ years in a leadership role managing technical teams or enterprise systems. • Deep functional knowledge across multiple Workday modules, especially Core HCM and Compensation. • Strong understanding of system integration methods, Workday Extend, and security best practices. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred: • Experience in a large, multi-national organization with complex HR needs. • Workday certifications in multiple domains. • Experience with Agile or hybrid delivery frameworks. • Exposure to other HR technologies and APIs (e.g., ServiceNow, SAP SuccessFactors).
