About the Role We’re looking for a WordPress Developer who can build a clean, scalable CMS and craft a front-end theme that sits perfectly on top of it. If you’re comfortable building well-structured custom post types, working with Advanced Custom Fields, and turning detailed documentation into pixel-perfect interfaces, please do get in touch with us. Your Job - To build custom WordPress CMS setups using CPTs, ACF Pro, and thoughtful data architecture - Develop fully custom themes (no page-builders) with clean, semantic and maintainable code - Work through project documentation (provided before each project) and implement features exactly as specified: field-by-field, component-by-component - Build the CMS and theme in strict alignment with the SEO migration plan — ensuring URL structures, page hierarchies, redirects, and content mapping remain intact and accurate - Make sure no URLs are altered or removed without approval, and that legacy pages, redirects, and retired content are handled exactly as laid out in the documentation - Optimise for performance, accessibility, and long-term maintainability - Collaborate with the wider team, raise issues early, and propose smarter solutions when something can be improved What You’ll Need - Strong experience using WordPress (CPTs, ACF Pro, relationships, flexible content, theme settings - Solid front-end fundamentals: HTML, SCSS, and JS - Experience building reusable components and scalable theme structures - Ability to follow structured documentation precisely — this is central to how we work - Understanding of SEO-sensitive development: respecting URL structures, maintaining slug integrity, handling redirects, and avoiding changes that could damage organic performance - Clear communication skills and a practical, problem-solving mindset - Tailwind CSS experience - API integration experience (REST/GraphQL) - Understanding of performance tuning, Core Web Vitals, and best-practice optimisation SEO & Migration Responsibilities Most of our website builds involve SEO-led migrations from older sites. This means you’ll often be implementing on structures already defined by our team. You’ll be responsible for: - Following content and URL maps exactly as supplied - Ensuring the final build mirrors the required URL segmentation, slug structure, and hierarchy - Preserving required legacy URLs - Implementing redirects exactly as specified - Flagging any mismatches between the CMS, the design, or the migration plan early - Working closely with the team and project lead to avoid SEO regressions Working With Us Each project begins with a detailed, structured documentation package outlining the CMS schema, front-end components, interaction behaviour, data flow, and SEO migration requirements. Your job is to work through the doc methodically and build everything exactly as specified. You’ll have regular access to the CTO, project manager, SEO specialist, designers, and dev team. If something doesn’t make sense or could be improved, you’re encouraged to flag it.
