Key Responsibilities:
• Welding & Fabrication: Perform MIG, TIG, and/or MMA welding on a variety of materials, including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, to produce fabricated components and structures.

• Fabrication Tasks: Cut, shape, and assemble metal parts using various fabrication equipment such as shears, presses, and bending machines. Fabricate custom metal products based on specific customer needs or project requirements.
• Quality Control: Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality standards, meeting internal and external requirements, and adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain welding and fabrication equipment, ensuring tools are in good working condition and that safety procedures are followed.
• Welding Coded Work: Complete any coded welding tasks where required, ensuring welds meet industry standards and pass quality inspections.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following all health and safety guidelines, including proper handling of materials, tools, and machinery.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification.
• Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve welding and fabrication issues on-site or in the workshop in a timely and efficient manner.
• Customer Focus: Occasionally liaise with clients or site engineers to ensure the finished product meets their expectations.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Proven Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience as a welder fabricator, with strong knowledge of MIG, TIG, and/or MMA welding techniques.
• Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Material Expertise: Experience working with various metals, including steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
• Coded Welder (Desirable): A coded welder qualification (e.g., ASME, ISO 9606) would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Health & Safety: Knowledge of welding and fabrication safety procedures, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
• Attention to Detail: Strong focus on precision and high-quality workmanship.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve fabrication and welding challenges independently.
• Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with good communication skills and a cooperative attitude.
• Physical Stamina: The role may require lifting and handling heavy materials, so a good level of physical fitness is essential.
• Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence would be an advantage but not essential.

Desirable:
• Previous experience in heavy fabrication, structural steelwork, or bespoke metalwork.
• Welding qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or similar).
• Forklift, overhead crane, or other relevant certifications.
• Experience with both workshop and site-based fabrication.

Benefits:
• Salary: £33,000 - £43,000 per annum (depending on experience).
• Overtime: Overtime available and paid at enhanced rates.
• Annual Leave: 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays).
