Job Brief: Website Redesign for PreventED (Children’s Protection Charity) About Us PreventED is a UK charity committed to ending child abuse through education, awareness, and legislative change. Our current site (www.prevented.org.uk) The current site does not reflect our mission or engage our audiences effectively. We are seeking an experienced designer–developer or agency to completely redesign and rebuild our website to be compelling, modern, mobile-first, and optimised for speed and storytelling. Scope of Work Discovery & Planning Develop a new site map aligned with our audiences (policy makers, schools, teachers, parents, donors). Produce full wireframes and user flows before coding (UX-first approach). Design Modern, clean, inspiring design that builds trust and impact. Must work flawlessly on mobile and tablet (not just desktop-responsive). Incorporate storytelling, strong visuals, and space for video. Development Build responsive site (WordPress preferred, but open to best-fit CMS). Optimised for speed and security (fast-loading, no bloated plugins). SEO best practices integrated. Donation functionality (PayPal, JustGiving, etc). Social integrations (Instagram / TikTok feed). Handover & Support Full CMS training and documentation for our team. Optional ongoing support (to be agreed separately). Requirements Minimum 5 years’ experience in both design and development. Proven portfolio of charity, NGO, or cause-driven websites. Strong UX/UI capabilities: must provide wireframes + mockups before build. Expertise in mobile-first responsive design and page speed optimisation. Clear communication, passion for meaningful causes, and reliable delivery. Deliverables & Timeline Week 1–2: Discovery session, site map, and wireframes. Week 3–4: Design mockups and approvals. Week 5–7: Development, CMS setup, and testing. Week 8: Final review, CMS training, and launch. Budget This is a charitable project, so our budget is lean but fair. Preference will be given to applicants motivated by the mission as well as the work.
