About

Recently serving in a central government institution, I identified profoundly serious concerns with regards to cybersecurity and technology governance practices. I also flagged, amongst others, major gaps between reported and the actual status of a strategic programme involving a consultancy supplier. In my honest professional assessment, I reported varying degrees of misconduct including wrongdoing with potentially criminal nature. My concerns were reported respectfully, in good faith and on solid factual grounds, internally and responsibly. On the next working day after my formal whistleblowing disclosure, I was abruptly removed from work while on an active call without any notice, inquiry or investigation, causing devastating impact on me and loved ones. I lost much more than space here allows to tell. But, no regret.. Silence and indifference would be complicity, and I chose suffering in dignity. Having examined factual records with 25 years’ experience and expertise, I have a high degree of confidence that the substance of my reported matters and how the government body and its supplier engaged ever since combined amount to what some could call a proper public scandal. This is what has become known as Mayflower Case. Mayflower Case matters, because it is more about: • how our taxes are being spent, • how secure our strategic digital assets and institutions are against unprecedented threats in a pre-war decade, • qualities of crucial public services we receive, and, • the future we are leaving for next generations. The public should now step in and help, because: • All prior avenues have proven effectively no help. • The case has to be taken to the courts, urgently. • Power asymmetry is enormous. • Urgent, concrete support is much needed. And, • The price I pay is in the British public interest. • Accountability in the public interest should not depend on personal ruin.
