About
As a warehouse operative, you'll need to:
- plan, coordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly and dispatch of goods
- use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met
- have a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these
- coordinate the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary
- keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate
- plan future capacity requirements
- motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
- produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment, for example, ensuring that stock such as chemicals and food are stored safely
- oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment
- where appropriate, oversee the maintenance and operation of warehouse management systems and automated storage and retrieval systems.
- Maintain warehouse premises neat, clean and tidy.
- Organize and rearrange items and materials neatly in respective places in a warehouse.
- Maintain and manage inventory levels and controls, and place orders to supplier accordingly.
- Check and inspect the conditions of items and materials while loading and unloading.
GOODS IN
- loading and unloading goods from delivery vans or lorries
- checking that the correct quantity and type of goods have been received
- recording any damaged, missing or faulty goods
- signing the delivery form, once satisfied that the goods are complete
- moving the goods to the correct area in the warehouse, either manually or using mechanical handling equipment
STORAGE & STOCK CONTROL
- allocating storage space to goods
- relocating and re-stacking goods to make space for a new delivery
GOODS OUT
- picking goods that have been ordered
- keeping records of goods which have been picked
- preparing despatch notes and labels
- moving and stacking goods ready for delivery, either by hand or using machinery
We operate on a 3-shift basis, which allows for flexible working hours to accommodate various operational needs:
- Morning Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Night Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From £30,000.00 per year
