Overtime Rate: £15.35 per hour
Annual Salary Equivalent: £30,248.40 with paid breaks*
Working Hours: 8:00pm – 8:00am, operating on a two-week rolling rota

Role Overview
The Waking Night Senior Care Assistant will provide leadership, oversight, and hands-on support to the night care team, ensuring the consistent delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care during night hours. Key responsibilities include administering medication, conducting regular wellbeing checks, responding promptly to resident needs, monitoring and reporting changes in condition, and ensuring accurate documentation. Professionalism, diligence, and the ability to remain alert and responsive throughout the night are essential.

Required Experience and Qualifications
Demonstrable leadership or mentoring experience within an elderly care or dementia care setting
Proven ability to deliver exceptional person-centred care
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), achieved or currently being undertaken
Experience working night shifts is advantageous but not essential
Primary Responsibilities
Ensure full compliance with safeguarding and night-time safety protocols
Complete regular checks on residents in accordance with individual care plans
Administer medication and document all care delivered accurately
Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in residents’ conditions
Maintain a calm, professional environment throughout the night
Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements set out by the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
