  • Job Description
  • As a Verification & Validation Engineer , you will join Derby team to support our activities within the Nuclear sector.
  • You will play a key role in delivering confidence to some of the most highly regulated, safety-critical systems in the UK. This is your chance to influence the reliability of groundbreaking nuclear technology—where proving a product works is just as important as designing it in the first place.
  • Location: Derby
  • On Site: 2 times per week
  • Clearance: BPSS
  • Experience Level: 1- 10 YOE

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing smart, robust V&V strategies and plans—right from requirements to final validation.
  • Carrying out or reviewing verification activities like analysis, inspections, and tests.
  • Reviewing technical evidence to assess compliance with system requirements.
  • Working closely with design teams to make sure systems meet the safety and performance needs of a regulated environment.
  • Applying your engineering know-how to safety-critical hardware, from mechanical systems to HVAC and beyond.
  • Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Strong technical writing and communication skills—you’ll be reviewing and reporting on critical evidence.
  • Familiarity with codes such as ASME, ACI, ASCE, ANSI, and British/European Standards.
  • Experience with Verification & Validation
  • Able to think critically and work independently.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in nuclear, power generation, or other safety-critical industries
  • Knowledge of ONR safety principles, INPO guidance, or similar regulatory frameworks
