Location: London
IQUW is a speciality (re)insurer at Lloyd’s (Syndicate 1856) underwriting a diverse range of Property, Commercial and Speciality (re)insurance products from Cargo and Marine to Political Violence, Terror and War. The role
The Operations Assistant will work closely with the Open Market Operations Manager and the Underwriting team and is primarily responsible for providing support on the administrative tasks and processes needed to support the Underwriting workflow, query management, ensuring operational objectives are met and Group principles are followed.
The role ensures the smooth running of operational processes to resolve issues relating to the Underwriting Workbench, Policy Administration Systems (PAS) and premium recognition. The role is therefore crucial to the efficient running of the syndicate, and in ensuring the accuracy of data for servicing our clients and brokers as well as financial reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure Operational KPIs are met
- Underwriting SLAs are adhered to and complete tasks in the UW workflow
- Be the coordination point between the Underwriting team and our outsource providers with data entry and resolving queries.
- Ensure the Underwriting team meet operational SLAs and data quality standards.
- Work on items where data differs between core systems. Investigate and confirm the correct value and ensure the data is updated and query closed.
- Ensure quality and integrity of Underwriting data for financial reporting and audit purposes.
- Work the Underwriting team on data integrity in the PAS.
- Understand and comply with current operational processes and procedures.
- Communicating with underwriters and brokers to address and resolve operational issues that may arise.
- Taking ownership and responsibility of tasks assigned.
- Support the Underwriting teams review and completion of EPI monitoring, due diligence, testing of systems, E-placement systems, month close processes, premium movements and credit control.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience
- No prior insurance knowledge is needed as on the job training will be provided
- Knowledge of data processing, or data validation, with an emphasis on fixing as well as identifying the issues.
- Attention to detail and a passion for investigation and troubleshooting.
- Strong data accuracy skills.
- Good analytical and numerical skills would be an advantage.
- Microsoft Outlook Email and Calendar skills would be an advantage.
