Primary Details Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Employee Underwriting Assistant – UK Casualty Role Highlights London based role with hybrid working Be part of a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative environment The Opportunity We have an opening for an experienced Underwriting Assistant with current/previous experience in Casualty, to join our UK Casualty team. This role will play a crucial role in providing technical and administrative support to our London South-East Underwriting team. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate underwriting data, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the underwriting process. You will also be given authority to write some renewal business, along with a good grasp and experience of underwriting operations is essential! Your new role: Assisting our Underwriters by providing information and support to allow them to negotiate rates, terms, and conditions for new and existing business. Support our Underwriters by taking responsibility for some renewal business, whilst reviewing risks and presenting your findings. Building and developing strong relationships with your stakeholders, including Underwriters, Brokers and other members of the wider team. Being aware of the annual business plan and its context so that you can make decisions and prioritise appropriately. Positively promote the department, division, and company to maximise brand leverage. Adhere to underwriting standards, legal requirements, and good practice to minimise risk and maximise efficiency. Keep abreast of market trends and demonstrate market cycle awareness. About you: Previous experience within Underwriting Support Good organisation skills with the ability to work to deadlines. A team player with great communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. Accuracy, attention to detail and a flexible approach to changing business requirements.
