  • Join us for your placement year in summer 2026! Our internships are designed to give you an insight into what it's like to work for a world-renowned brand with a culture of support and community.
  • The Manufacturing Engineering Intern plays a critical role in supporting the engineers to optimize and improving manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, quality, and safety. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing tools, gauges, and equipment. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, reduce waste, and enhance overall production performance.

In this role, you will be responsible for

  • Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling.
  • Optimize existing manufacturing processes for efficiency, throughput, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plans.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).
  • Lead or participate in Root Cause Analysis for production issues and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Drive efforts to reduce scrap, rework, and waste.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement permanent solutions.
  • Collaborate with Production to support daily operations, resolve technical issues, and provide training.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Qualifications
  • Please note that to be eligible for this role, you must be an undergraduate student seeking a placement year as part of your degree - if you do not meet these criteria please consider applying for other positions.

Our ideal candidate must have

  • Be an undergraduate student (studying an Engineering focused degree) with a desire to complete a 12-month work placement as part of degree studies.

Our ideal candidate should have

  • Be a capable 3D CAD user, ideally NX, and able to interpret & create technical drawings
  • Good organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Has the ability to adapt quickly to changing working environments and is ready to embrace new ways of working through digitalisation
  • Has the confidence to challenge and create new ideas.
  • Has the capability to work well in a team as well as independently, using own initiative.
  • Has a quality mind-set with high attention to detail.
  • Can communicate confidently with people at all levels, both written and verbal (including on the telephone).
  • IT literate and confident in using MS Office packages as well as learning Company systems.

Working Hours

  • 39 hours per week – standard working pattern of 08:00 – 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 – 16:00 Friday with a 1-hour lunchbreak
