Location: PE13 Area (Wisbech/Cambridgeshire) Hours: 15 hours per week (Flexible days/times, ideally split into daily blocks) Rate: Highly Competitive (Based on experience and specialization)
The OpportunityWe are seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and highly skilled Home Tutor to provide specialized 1:1 support for a young male client in the PE13 area. This role is not standard academic tutoring; it requires a unique focus on therapeutic, play-based intervention to build foundational skills and emotional regulation.
This student has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), presents with significant anxiety, struggles with communication, and requires a consistent, highly structured routine.
Your Primary FocusThe successful candidate will be responsible for:

Therapeutic Engagement: Using play-based approaches (e.g., Attention Autism, Intensive Interaction, or similar methods) to develop shared attention, turn-taking, and social interaction skills.

Emotional Regulation: Building a strong, trusting relationship to help the student feel safe, manage anxiety, and successfully navigate transitions without becoming dysregulated.

Bespoke Learning: Delivering tailored, 1:1 sessions focusing on foundational literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving through hands-on, engaging, and highly visual activities.
To be eligible for this high-impact role, you must meet the following criteria:

SEN Experience (Non-Negotiable): Proven, significant experience working directly with children who have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and high levels of anxiety or Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA).

Therapeutic Skillset: Experience utilizing therapeutic or specialized play techniques (e.g., Intensive Interaction, TEACCH, Identiplay) to facilitate engagement and communication.

Qualifications: A strong background in education or specialized support (e.g., QTS, experienced HLTA, or relevant qualification in SEN/Child Development).

DBS: Must hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service for immediate commencement.
