I am seeking a consultant to research and analyze government support for tree planting in Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland The work should cover: • The history and duration of legislation and schemes providing government grants for native tree planting. • Comparison of grant payment structures and how they differ across jurisdictions. • Annual hectares planted, with comparison against official targets. This is a one-off project, paid hourly, with potential for follow-on work around rewilding and afforestation in Northern Ireland. Deliverables • A short, well-referenced written report (5 pages) with 1 page executive summary. • A visual presentation (slides or equivalent) to summarise findings. • A brief verbal presentation of findings (10–15 minutes). • All references and sources clearly cited. ________________________________________ Required Expertise • Advanced academic background (minimum of Master’s degree) in environmental policy, forestry, sustainability, or a related field. • Proven experience with government policy • Ability to write clearly, concisely, and reference sources properly. ________________________________________ Work Style • Work to be delivered in stages, to allow review (details to be agreed during onboarding). • Independent research with agreed check-in points.
