Job Title: Transport General ManagerLocation: Yorkshire Salary: £55,000 - £75,000+Benefits About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated Transport General Manager to oversee and optimise transport operations at this key location in Yorkshire. This is a key leadership role within this leading transport company ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective transport operations while maintaining high service levels for customers. Key Responsibilities Operational Management Oversee transport operations , ensuring efficient vehicle utilisation and on-time deliveries.Implement and monitor KPIs to drive continuous improvement in service levels, fuel efficiency, and cost control.Work closely with site-based transport teams to ensure consistent processes and best practices.Lead strategic route planning and fleet optimisation to improve efficiency and reduce costs.Ensure fleet maintenance schedules are adhered to, minimising downtime and ensuring compliance. Compliance & Safety Ensure full compliance with all transport regulations, including Operator Licence requirements, DVSA, and Working Time Directive regulations.Promote a strong health & safety culture across all sites, conducting audits and implementing best practices.Maintain accurate records for driver hours, tachographs, vehicle inspections, and maintenance schedules.Manage accident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
