Job Title: Trainee Specialist Job Type:Full Time - 37.5 Hours Salary:£23,907.00 Location: Rochester JOB PURPOSE: Are you passionate about gemstones and diamonds? This is a unique opportunity to join our Gemstone & Diamond Services team as a GDSJ Trainee, where you’ll receive specialisttraining and support to develop your expertise in gem and diamond pricing, identification, and handling. We’re looking for a proactive individual who can work independently, adapt todepartmental needs, and grow into a key contributor with strong product knowledge and pricing accuracy. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:• Ensure the security of stock within the department at all times.• Adhere to due diligence processes and compliance standards.• Deliver exceptional customer service via phone, email, and interdepartmental communication.• Accurately price gem set stock and maintain detailed records.• Demonstrate a solid understanding of diamond identification and hallmark recognition.• Interpret gem and diamond data and input accurately into systems.• Use Excel/Google Sheets confidently for data handling and reporting.• Support other areas of the business when required, showing flexibility and teamwork. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: • Proven ability to price accurately and consistently meet KPIs (e.g., 250 units priced daily).• Strong attention to detail in scrapping and audit checks.• Excellent knowledge of hallmarks and gem characteristics.• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.• Strong numerical and IT skills.• Passion for gemstones and diamonds, with a desire to grow professionally in the field.• Good standard of education.• Demonstrated communication and organisational skills.• Experience in delivering high-quality customer service.• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
