Trainee Social Worker (Health & Social Care), Uist & Barra
37 hours per week, fixed term of two years
£28,054 per annum, inclusive of £2,859 per annum Distant Islands Allowance

As a Trainee Social Worker, you will be a member of the Assessment and Care Management Services team which undertakes a range of social work services in relation to the welfare promotion and support for vulnerable people and their families. Under the guidance of the team you will undertake assessments and care management duties.

This post will provide Trainee Social Worker experience and training within the Health and Social Care Department. The traineeship will have a weighting towards working with vulnerable adults.

Understanding the various needs of people is essential as is previous experience of working with vulnerable adults. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a diverse group of service users, their families, colleagues and other agencies. Both Team working and the ability to work on your own initiative are essential.

It is essential that you have a relevant degree to qualify for entry to the post graduate Social Work Pathway.

A full, unrestricted driving licence is required.

This position requires registration with the SSSC. This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. You will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar.

This post is for a fixed term period of 2 years. Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance.
