The Role As a Tradesperson at Cabrini Health, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, functional and high-quality environment across our facilities. You will carry out a variety of maintenance and repair tasks across multiple areas including the carpentry workshop, infrastructure, plant and equipment. This is a secure, ongoing role where you will be required to work full time with some overtime and be available for site/phone recall, as well as shift work per a monthly roster. Flexibility and reliability is essential for this role which will primarily be based at Brighton, with coverage at Malvern required on occasion. What You’ll Do Basic troubleshooting, carry out general maintenance and repairs across Cabrini Health facilities, including carpentry and minor building works. Assist with the installation and maintenance of infrastructure, plant, and equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Work collaboratively with the Engineering and Maintenance team to deliver timely and efficient services across the hospital and other sites. Conduct regular inspections and respond to maintenance requests or breakdowns in a proactive and professional manner. Raising PO Numbers Onboarding contractors’ administration duties Supervising and calling out contractors as required Operating building management, security, and car parking systems What We’re Looking For You are a skilled and versatile tradesperson who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and has a proactive approach to maintenance. Your ability to work independently as well as part of a team will be key to your success in this role. We are seeking the following: Preferably qualified Tradesperson: Plumber, Electrician, Carpenter or Fitter, however, would consider general handyman. Proven experience in general maintenance and trade work, ideally within a hospital/facility operation, commercial, industrial or workshop environment. General handyman skills – basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical, air handling units, filters, checking and cleaning/replacing Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently. Sound knowledge of safe working practices and workshop procedures. A current and valid Victorian Driver’s Licence. White Card (Construction Induction Card) – highly regarded. Sound communication skills ability to work under pressure. Basic understanding of infection control principles. Why join Cabrini?
