Timber Machinist - Hull (Days, Monday to Friday)Location: HullHours: Monday to Friday, Day ShiftSalary: Competitive, dependent on experience About the Role:We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Timber Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Hull. You'll be responsible for setting up and operating a range of timber cutting machinery to produce high-quality wood components used in joinery and bespoke manufacturing. Principal Purpose of the Role:To operate timber cutting machinery safely and accurately, ensuring all components meet precise specifications and quality standards. You'll work with various saws and tools, following strict safety procedures and contributing to the smooth running of the production process. Key Responsibilities: Set up, calibrate, and operate timber cutting machines including crosscut saws, rip saws, spindle moulders, planers, and CNC routers.Read and interpret technical drawings and cutting lists to ensure accurate production.Measure and mark timber accurately using tape measures, calipers, and other precision tools.Monitor machine performance and carry out routine maintenance checks.Inspect finished components for quality and consistency, making adjustments as needed.Follow all health and safety procedures, including the use of PPE and safe handling of machinery.Maintain a clean and organised work area.Collaborate with the production team to meet daily targets and deadlines.Report any faults or issues to the supervisor promptly.
