- Technology Solutions Analyst (IT Business Analyst) The CME markets technology portfolio seeks a Technology Solutions Analyst to join the global solutions and architecture team. This role is vital for providing the technical analysis necessary to drive the evolution and growth of CME’s core trade execution and post trade systems. These systems power major electronic trading platforms across Futures & Options, EBS and BTEC markets. The mission of the team is to continuously deliver new features while maintaining systems that are both low latency and demonstrate high reliability. This role will involve working closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Development, Testing and Architecture stakeholders to provide creative solutions that meet the functional business needs whilst strictly maintaining the required performance profile, along with other non-functional requirements. Core Technical Responsibilities and Delivery The Technology Solution Analyst performs essential execution delivery activities aimed at empowering the team to deliver. The primary goal is to create shared understanding and pressure test ideas as new features are prepared for production. Typical responsibilities include: Requirements Discovery and Definition: Supporting elicitation, discovery, prototyping, and technical business analysis activities, including performing project analysis work such as detailed requirement build out and user story analysis. Execution Delivery: Performing impact analysis, scenario creation, test distillation, functional design, and logical design. Technical Specification: Defining and designing detailed technical artifacts, including messaging protocols, data and mapping specifications, and solution interfaces. Application Design: Discovering, defining, and designing detailed application behaviors, logic, data modelling, flows, and mappings between components for either front-end or back-end systems. Product Vision: Contributing to the product vision and impact assessment for both new projects and enhancements. Knowledge Management: Contributing to and managing an ever-evolving knowledge base. Required Experience and Skills: Experience: 3-5 years of analysis experience in areas such as business systems, quality assurance, or architecture. Methodology: Experience in product development, SDLC, and Agile methodologies and practices. Project History: Prior experience in supporting and implementing technology-based projects. Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. The ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization, external customers, and vendors, all of which may have differing levels of technical exposure. The role requires great facilitation, negotiation, explanatory, and influencing skills. Education: A degree in information systems, computer science, or similar, though relevant experience may substitute particularly for non-technology qualifications such as business and/or finance. Highly beneficial knowledge includes: Industry Experience: Experience in Financial Markets, such as Futures, Options, Cash, OTC, exchange-based, FCM, brokerage, middle and back office, private equity, or proprietary trading. Financial Technology: Knowledge of financial products, electronic trading, order management, market data, clearing, or post-trade processing. Technical Environment: (All of the following are desirable, not required) Unix command line, virtual machines, cloud computing experience/exposure, relational databases, NoSQL databases, Protocols (e.g., FIX/P, WebSocket, SBE, TCP, UDP), Messaging Middleware (e.g., Kafka, Tibco FTL, PubSub), RESTful APIs, XML, JSON, ProtoBuf, JIRA, FIGMA, Confluence, Splunk.
