Job Description

Working in a hybrid style, based at home and mainly at Claverhouse East office but can be multiple office locations as required, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.

Requirements

You will have Degree in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work CQSW, CSS (with appropriate option).

You will be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council.

Responsibilities

You will provide professional leadership as first line manager with day to day operational management responsibility for a team or teams of staff delivering front line care management services, whilst ensuring high standards of practice parameters and service provision are maintained.

The Individual

You will have experience of working in the area of disability. You will have proven supervisory experience, proven management and leadership experience and excellent communication skills including the use of functional information systems. You will have experience of budget management, workload management and good organisational skills.

You will have knowledge and experience of using Adult Support and Protection legislation, a working knowledge of relevant legislation and experience of working with Partner Agencies.

You will have the ability to lead, advise, assess and respond to critical situations and to reflect on/analyse situations. You will have a history of honesty and integrity and a commitment to ongoing effective staff support and development.

You will have the ability to work to professional standards and within local policies and procedures and to build trusting relationships with service users, colleagues and other professional staff. You will be a team player and be able to work as part of a management team as well as on your own initiative.

You will be able to work flexibly and have the ability to travel efficiently in the course of your duties.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
