Location: Sittingbourne, Kent Salary: £31,452 - £34,140 per annum – dependent on experience and qualifications Hours: 36 per week Contract Type: Permanent Clarion Housing Association is commissioned by Kent, Medway and East Sussex local authorities to deliver a range of accommodation and community-based services for victims of domestic abuse. Our Independent Domestic Violence Advisor service is seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our team in Kent. Based in Sittingbourne and with a proven track record responding to the risks and needs of survivors of abuse, you’ll support the frontline IDVA team to deliver a safe and effective IDVA service to victims of domestic abuse, especially those at the highest risk. You’ll also work with and support the IDVA Service Manager to ensure our IDVA service delivers high quality support to our clients, which meets ‘Safe Lives’ Leading Lights quality standards of service. You’ll have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on victims and their children. As an experienced IDVA, you’ll have worked with clients who have complex and multiple needs. As someone who remains calm in a crisis, you’ll be skilled in risk management and safety planning, and in handling sensitive information daily; therefore, experience of direct work with survivors of domestic abuse and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post. Our IDVA team provide support to high risk victims of domestic abuse falling under the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) process across Maidstone, Swale, Dartford and Gravesham. The team works within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. We’ll look to you to inspire, motivate and support a team of IDVAs. You’ll have day-to-day responsibility for supervising staff, including case management, one-to-one support, and monitoring performance. You’ll also manage a small caseload of clients. You’ll hold, or be working towards gaining, a recognised qualification such as IDVA, ISVA, or ISAC, which is essential for this role.
