Learning is delivered both in-person and online during your working hours and can be completed within your first year at the school — with all costs fully covered by your employer.About the role This SEND Teaching Assistant Apprentice role is based in an SEND School in Wandsworth for children with Visual impairment, hearing impairment and multi-sensory impairment as well as ASD, ADHD and some challenging behaviour. The students are between the ages of 2 to 19 and work at varying levels with specialist centers for students for PMLD and for those following the national curriculum and GCSEs and BETEC. Your responsibilities will include:Supporting pupils with SEND needs on a one-to-one basis or within small groupsAssisting teachers in the planning and delivery of differentiated lessonsHelping pupils with their educational, emotional, and behavioural developmentPreparing specialist classroom resourcesMonitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to staff and parentsTraining and Workshops:As part of your apprenticeship, you will complete specialist workshops designed to develop your expertise in SEND support, including:The SEND landscape in the UKSafeguarding in SENDAdaptive Curriculum DesignInnovative Assessments for SEND pupilsSEND Milestones and Strategies to Support PupilsUnderstanding Autism, ADHD, and DyslexiaResponding to Trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)Supporting pupils with Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN)</
