We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated primary school team. This is a critical role focusing on providing one-to-one and small group support, particularly for a student with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who requires consistent, nurturing, and structured assistance.
This role requires a dedicated individual who can build strong rapport with the student and their family, ensuring continuity and stability in their educational journey within a primary school setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality, targeted one-to-one support to a student with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
- Assist the class teacher in planning and preparing resources, with a focus on adapting materials to meet diverse learning needs suitable for primary learners.
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of the supported child within the classroom and school community.
- Contribute to the effective monitoring and reporting of the student's progress, including implementing Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
- Supervise students during non-contact time, including lunch and play.
- Foster a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment.
Essential:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within a primary school setting.
- Proven experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- A positive, patient, and flexible approach to working with children and staff.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
- Relevant Level 2 or 3 TA qualification.
- Experience with specific interventions or strategies related to supporting complex learning needs.
