About the Role
- Via Logic LLC is seeking a Systems Engineer – Platform Administrator (SME Level: Network and Computer Systems Administrator) to oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise systems across hybrid on-premise and cloud environments.
- This position ensures system reliability, availability, and security by managing server infrastructure, monitoring performance, and driving continuous improvement through automation and proactive issue resolution.
- The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience administering Windows and Linux systems, coupled with strong troubleshooting, automation, and performance-tuning skills.
Basic Requirements
- 10+ years of technical experience designing and deploying secure, scalable cloud solutions
- Bachelor’s degree
- MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN AND RESIDE IN THE U.S. All work must be performed in the U.S.
- Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Public Trust U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as this work is for a federal government client. Candidates will need to successfully complete a Background Investigation (BI) and credit check prior to beginning work. Nothing in applicants’ history should prevent them from obtaining a public trust security clearance.
Core Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain enterprise servers, networks, and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, AWS/Azure).
- Manage and support Active Directory (AD), DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, capacity, and availability using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Implement and maintain system security measures, patches, and updates to ensure compliance.
- Automate routine administrative tasks using PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.
- Collaborate with network and cloud teams to ensure seamless integration across hybrid infrastructures.
- Maintain accurate system documentation, configuration baselines, and change records.
- Support disaster recovery, backup strategies, and high-availability configurations.
- Provide Tier 3 escalation and mentor junior system administrators.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience administering Windows and/or Linux systems in enterprise environments.
- Proficiency in VMware, Active Directory, PowerShell, and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, SCCM).
- Strong background in system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud).
- Familiarity with network security, patch management, and compliance frameworks (NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP).
- U.S. Citizenship required (Public Trust eligibility).
