- As a Systems Engineer, you will work at the forefront of high-performance networking and decentralized systems, contributing directly to a privacy-focused network protocol. You’ll own critical components of the protocol and infrastructure, optimizing performance, reliability, and security across all layers of the network stack. This hands-on role requires deep expertise in networking, low-level system design, and Rust programming. You will collaborate with a highly skilled, distributed team in a fully remote environment, continuously improving systems while contributing to open-source projects. This position offers the chance to solve complex technical challenges and make a measurable impact on a next-generation decentralized network.
- Accountabilities
- Design, build, and maintain core components of a high-performance decentralized network protocol.
- Optimize packet processing, runtime systems, P2P networking, and other networking subsystems.
- Write and maintain code in Rust, ensuring reliability, provability, and benchmarked performance.
- Collaborate closely with team members to analyze, debug, and resolve complex networking and system issues.
- Contribute to open-source repositories, maintaining high standards of documentation and code quality.
- Improve network performance at all levels, from single functions to entire subsystems.
- Develop tools and solutions that enhance productivity and system reliability for the engineering team.
- Strong experience with networking concepts, protocols, and UDP-based systems.
- Proficient in Rust and comfortable working in low-level system code.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and optimize network performance to high throughput levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for debugging complex, distributed systems.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote, distributed team environment.
- Excellent documentation habits and willingness to read and learn from peer-produced technical content.
- Familiarity with decentralized systems or P2P networking is a plus.
- Enthusiasm for contributing to open-source projects and privacy-focused technologies.
