To evolve and advance these efforts, they are seeking a sustainability professional to lead strategy and implementation for their customer engagement and sustainable product portfolio programs.The Product Sustainability and Customer Engagement contractor reports directly to the VP, Global Sustainability. As a key member of the team, this person will collaborate with internal and external customer teams, as well as key functional partners in R&D, sourcing, and IT on product sustainability programs including certifications and footprint initiatives.The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of sustainable product development combined with communications and interpersonal skills, and is comfortable working in a matrixed environment.MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance) Execute product life-cycle pilot project, including working cross-functionally to collect required information, documenting processes and making recommendations for improvements to platforms, processes. Manage the company's Environmentally Preferable Products program, reviewing submissions, educating suppliers on program requirements, and working with IT to improve data management.
