We are recruiting for a Sustainable Housing Officer at East Lindsey District Council.



This challenging and rewarding role is key to helping support local residents during the current cost of living crisis. As part of the South and East Lincolnshire Partnership's Green Homes Grants team, you will make decisions on grant-funded improvement works to private properties - helping to lower residents' energy bills and ensure homes are both warmer and more energy efficient.



You will be a key point of contact between customers and contractors and be capable of juggling multiple priorities whilst carefully monitoring progress to ensure the required grant outcomes are met. You will have a good understanding of domestic retrofit for energy efficiency and be confident in managing multi-million pound budgets successfully.



This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a hard-working team which is helping to improve the lives of local residents. The position is currently fixed-term until March 2024 but likely to be extended, subject to future funding awards.



This role offers agile working and also involves regular travel across a wide rural district, with multiple site visits on a regular basis, so the ability to independently and reliably travel as part of your daily duties is essential. This is an opportunity to expand your existing knowledge of energy efficiency improvement through both on-the-job and more formal training as appropriate.



What we need from you:

Educated to degree level in housing or relevant subject, or substantial experience in the housing or built environment sector
Approachable and professional communicator, able to use assertiveness, empathy, and diplomacy to navigate and resolve challenges effectively.
Confident using IT systems, with a willingness to learn and adapt quickly—especially with tools like Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
The nature of the role work will require the successful applicant to work with both minimum supervision as well as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
