We are hiring for a Surveyor to join our Student Accommodation Value & RIsk Advisory team in either our Bristol or London office.
The role involves the delivery of loan security and accounts valuations, purchase reports and portfolio instructions on Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) in the UK. You will gain hands-on experience with high-value, large-scale properties from development through completion, while working closely with clients and getting immediate exposure to property inspections.
The JLL Student Accommodation Valuation group is a collaborative team environment, you'll have direct client interaction from day one and play a key role in evolving our innovative accommodation products across the entire development lifecycle.
Responsibilities and Duties: Take on valuations of assets across the UK with a good level of individual responsibility, and client contact working with the Associates and Directors in the team.
Manage own timescales/workload and communicate these to colleagues and managers as appropriate. Deliver within agreed deadlines.
Maintaining a high standard of client service and delivery
Actively, build network both internally and externally, ensuring the team continues to be engaged both with other sector teams and clients. Making contacts at a junior level is essential.
Key Skills required:
Strong / genuine interest in the PBSA sector.
MRICS qualification
Team player with demonstrable commitment to helping achieve the team’s goals in terms of fees, professional standards and client service
1 / 5 years of experience. We would consider a newly qualified applicant.
Understanding of property and valuation
Financial modelling skills and experience with Microsoft Excel are essential.;
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook essential. Strong data manipulation skills in Excel.
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
Strong writing and verbal communication skills and comfortable with report writing
Ability to plan and deliver projects within agreed timeframes
A desire and urgency to deliver high quality reports
