- Job Description
Role Purpose (Job Profile)
- The role leads and supports the strategic development and operational delivery strategy of sustainability initiatives within the procurement, supplier, and operations ecosystem. It combines supplier quality development, emissions data accuracy, and circular engineering practices to deliver against Net Zero, Scope 3, and Circular Economy goals. This includes embedding ESG objectives across suppliers and factory operations, driving supplier engagement, ensuring emissions reporting accuracy, and implementing waste and impact reduction initiative strategies in line with regulatory requirements.
- This role supports multiple initiatives across the sustainability roadmap and plays a key part in building a decarbonized, data-rich, and circular supplier ecosystem by 2040.
Main Duties
- Define and identify ESG sustainability objectives across supply chain and operations, developing measurable targets for emissions, waste reduction, and supplier onboarding.
- Collaborate with procurement, materials, and operations teams to embed circular design, manufacturing, and procurement principles across the full product and supplier lifecycle.
- Lead the collection, validation, and collation of supplier carbon emissions data (Scope 3), ensuring alignment with internal targets and external standards (e.g., SBTi, CDP).
- Design and execute supplier sustainability surveys and workstreams to track and manage the implementation of ESG practices, including emissions maturity, environmental risk, and circular economy engagement.
- Develop and monitor waste minimisation initiatives aligned with performance targets.
- Support innovation pilots with suppliers through prototyping, materials trials, and circular value assessments.
- Engage with suppliers to improve product and process quality, prioritising waste reduction and supporting recognised environmental certifications (ISO 14001, ISO 20400).
- Coordinate with internal teams to leverage IT/data platforms for transparent ESG-linked procurement and reporting.
- Identify and support procurement of sustainable solutions (green energy, low-emission logistics, IT systems) to measure and reduce supplier impacts.
- Ensure initiatives are structured and documented to meet the definition of Sustainability Initiative Costs within the financial regulations. .

- Supplier Sustainability and ESG Integration: Knowledge of supplier engagement, emissions monitoring, ESG surveys, and sustainability certifications.
- Project Delivery: Ability to deliver cross-functional sustainability projects with suppliers and internal teams.
- Analytical and Data Orientation: Proficiency with ESG data platforms, dashboards, and carbon tools.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Effective at working across engineering, procurement, and sustainability functions.
- Innovation-Driven: Identifies and supports opportunities for sustainable innovation in materials, manufacturing, and supply chains.
Qualifications and Experience Level
- Degree in Materials Science, Environmental Science, Sustainability Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience in sustainability, procurement, supplier quality development, or manufacturing engineering.
- Experience with ESG strategy, Scope 3 emissions, sustainability reporting tools, and/or LCA software.
- Familiarity with ESG regulatory standards and sustainability certifications (ISO 14001, ISO 20400, CDP, SBTi).
