Salary: £27,764 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (52 weeks per year)

About the Role
We are seeking an empathetic and proactive Student Support and Wellbeing Coordinator to join our dedicated Student Support team.
In this vital role, you will provide pastoral and wellbeing support to students across the College, helping them to build resilience, confidence, and self-coping strategies. You will coordinate individual and group wellbeing sessions, deliver interventions to promote positive behaviour, and contribute to a whole-college approach to wellbeing.
You’ll also work closely with our Student Recruitment Team and SENCo to support new learners through the assessment and transition process, ensuring every student receives the right level of care and guidance from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group wellbeing support sessions for learners.
Support students experiencing emotional distress, anxiety or behavioural challenges.
Work collaboratively with staff, therapists and families to deliver person-centred support.
Contribute to the development of individual learner support passports and wellbeing plans.
Coordinate wellbeing initiatives, including learner-led forums and enrichment activities.
Support learner transition activities such as taster and enrolment days.
Maintain accurate wellbeing records and monitor the impact of interventions.
Help plan and deliver staff training related to student wellbeing and mental health awareness.
About You
You’ll be an empathetic and confident communicator, able to build trusting relationships with learners, staff and families. You’ll bring creativity, resilience and a solution-focused mindset to your work, with a genuine passion for supporting young disabled adults to thrive.
Essential criteria:
Minimum Level 2 qualification in youth work or learning support.
Level 2 qualification in mental health.
5 GCSEs (A–C) including English and Maths (or equivalent).
Experience working with young disabled adults in a wellbeing or pastoral role.
Excellent interpersonal, organisational and IT skills.
Desirable:
Relevant qualifications in psychology, counselling or positive behaviour support.
Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
Experience working in an admissions role in an education setting
