Randstad have an opportunity available for a Student Finance Officer to work within the team at Belfast Metropolitan College.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all Belfast Metropolitan College students receive accurate and detailed information regarding student finance. You will proactively engage with students to process applications efficiently and effectively, helping to maximise the uptake of all available funding opportunities (including the Hardship Fund, EMA, and HE Bursaries).

Requirements
- EITHER Hold at least a Level 4 qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Business, Finance) PLUS a minimum of two years' experience in at least two Student Support functions (e.g., student funding, careers, student well being).
- OR Hold a Level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline PLUS a minimum of four years' experience in at least two Student Support functions.
- Must hold GCSE English (Grade C) and GCSE Maths (Grade C), or equivalent (e.g., Essential Skills Level 2).
- Detailed knowledge of funding mechanisms for students within the further and higher education sector.
- Experience of budget management and audit compliance.
- Experience of providing advice and guidance directly to students.
- Strong competencies in financial management, data analysis, customer service and communication.
- Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting including an enhanced Access NI check and compliance due to the nature of this work
Responsibilities
- To provide accurate information to students regarding all relevant funds, including the Hardship Fund, Care to Learn, EMA and College HE Bursaries.
- To proactively engage with students and process all financial applications in a timely and customer-focused manner.
- To deliver regular presentations and outreach sessions to students and staff across all college campuses.
- To ensure information on student funding is correctly disseminated via the website, Canvas, social media and other media.
- To process applications efficiently to maximise the allocation of student earmarked funds.
- To develop and maintain systems to track fund uptake and provide accurate reports for internal and external audits.
- To coordinate panel meetings for determining the spend of relevant student funds.
- To liaise with external agencies (e.g., DFE, Student Loans Company) and internal departments.
- To interpret and apply government policy relating to student finance.
- To proactively research other funding opportunities which students may avail of.
