A fantastic casual opportunity to become an Online Enquiry Assistant at the University of Sydney starting on November 10th, 2025 Open to currently enrolled UYSD students only Up to 20 hours per week roster availability required Hours will be available between 7am – 7pm Monday to Friday HEO3 Step 1- $49.94 per hour About the opportunity The Student Centre team support all enquiries to the University of Sydney via a face-to-face counter service, phones, and online customer service channels. They provide customer service, information, advice and referral about a broad range of matters relating to a student’s time at university. This includes course options and admissions, student cards, fees, enrolment, timetables, examinations, special consideration, study abroad and exchange, and graduation. The Online Enquiry Assistant is open to USYD students only to provide general information, guidance and support to prospective students, in line with agreed policy and procedures, via the Student Enquiry Portal. Over time and Saturday work may be offered in Semester commencement peak period. This position is based on-site at our Camperdown Campus. There is an expectation that during the whole University closure in December/January, that Online Enquiry Assistants are available via hybrid working arrangements as agreed with their supervisor. Your key responsibilities will be to: respond to student online enquiries through the ServiceNow platform in a collaborative team environment provide accurate and timely information to prospective students in a high-volume service centre forward enquiries to specialist areas using established triage protocols conduct internal research using University platforms and stay informed about key dates, activities, and announcements to ensure accurate and timely responses compose professional, culturally sensitive, and clear email responses that reflect a supportive approach to diverse backgrounds contribute to service enhancement by developing knowledge of the online enquiry support lifecycle and identifying opportunities for improvement through collaboration assist in stakeholder communication and help maintain relevant databases support reporting and compliance tasks in line with University guidelines promote health and safety awareness through regular checks and team discussions undertake other duties appropriate within the classification level as required assist with the organisation and coordination of meetings, events and conferences, including diary management. About you recent experience of working in a front-line, client-focused service or support role either in the context of education, call centres or customer service industry demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service in a high-volume environment with a focus on delivering a quality, empathetic student experience with the ability to adapt/respond to different types of clients must have strong written communication skills and fast typing accuracy with proven ability to retain and manage a lot of information strong customer service, prioritisation and organisational skills, the ability to apply good judgement, work collegially, flexibly and effectively on the online enquiry channel in a team environment. Sponsorship / work rights for Australia Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This role requires valid work rights for Australia.
