HEO 4 Step 1 - $56.85 per hour + super About the opportunity The Student Centre team support all enquiries to the University of Sydney via a face-to-face counter service, phones, and online customer service channels. They provide customer service, information, advice and referral about a broad range of matters relating to a student’s time at university. This includes course options and admissions, student cards, fees, enrolment, timetables, examinations, special consideration, study abroad and exchange, and graduation. This role will require you to: provide accurate and consistent information within established service and performance parameters to students, internal and external stakeholders who contact the Student Centre respond to and resolve enquiries in an informative, accurate and timely manner; ensuring key details are recorded in an enquiry management system for each interaction triage enquiries accurately and in accordance with established business practice guidelines to include the effective assessment, diagnosis, prioritisation and internal escalation of more complex cases to a senior staff person for appropriate referral of issues to higher level support and advice exercise a degree of initiative, sensitivity, and sound judgement in compliance with the University’s privacy policy, legislative obligations, and operating guidelines to resolve problems and manage complaints About you must be available a minimum of 3 days/21hr per week roster availability is required must be available to attend an in-person Assessment Centre on campus on Thursday October 30th, 2025 to be eligible for this role compulsory on-campus training required for 2 weeks Mon-Fri full time from November 10th – 21st 2025 student Centre staff are required to work onsite unless otherwise specified must be available to work over the Christmas shutdown period from December 21st – January 6th 2025 (minus the public holidays during those dates) experience in working in a high volume, fast paced, customer centric environment strong organization and time management skills excellent high-level communication skills - including verbal and written, and can make the complex simple in your daily interactions fast learning and willing to take on new challenges in an agile work environment ability to talk and update notes in enquiry management system simultaneously strong computer skills and literacy, including Microsoft Office touch typing highly regarded current students, returning parents, recent graduates and working holiday visa holders will be considered for this position and are encouraged to apply.
