Street Scene Operative Hourly Rate: £12.58 PAYE Location: Doncaster Job Type: Full-time, Temp Join our client's Regeneration and Environment team as an Operative, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of streets and public areas throughout the borough. This position requires a proactive approach to grounds maintenance and cleansing duties, ensuring high standards are met to benefit the residents of Doncaster. Day-to-day of the role: Maintain streets and public areas according to their needs and the designed maintenance and improvement programmes, ensuring compliance with service standards. Perform general outdoor duties in all weather conditions, adapting to seasonal work requirements and responding to emergency call-outs as needed. Serve as a point of contact for customer service requests, handling enquiries directly and maintaining positive customer relationships while representing Doncaster Council professionally. Undertake multi-skilled tasks across different service areas to meet ongoing service demands, ensuring a consistent year-round service. Operate safely with various equipment and mobile technology, promptly reporting any unsafe conditions or incidents to the line manager. Collaborate within the team to provide professional support and share best practices. Participate in the Council’s standby arrangements, including winter maintenance and 24/7 emergency cover, actively supporting the Emergency Planning Team during crises. Required Skills & Qualifications: Knowledge of health and safety legislation relevant to street cleansing and grounds maintenance.
