The successful candidate will be comfortable with ambiguity and leading a cross-functional team to successful outcomes, particularly when the path to doing so is unclear or uncharted. The individual must be able to quickly build relationships across all levels, understand how to swiftly determine needed course(s) of action, and know how to motivate a diverse set of stakeholders to act cohesively and productively in pursuit of it when individual goals may vary. The subject matter of initiatives will widely vary – from landscape analysis and strategy development to new product launches or established solutions– so the ideal candidate will be excited by the opportunity to apply themselves, at times simultaneously, to diverse topics.Some of the core activities of the role will include (but are not limited to): Strategic growth (25%): Likely two areas per quarter to design, build and execute within VSS. Areas such as strategy development, go-to-market and marketing development across all VSS activities (including but not limited to baseline market identification, carbon credits, climate finance or agriculture). Key components of this include the ability to:Prioritise and triage of Sustainability Solutions opportunities around a commercial framework. Particularly focused on commercial feasibility, viability and desirably, time to revenue, and investment or resource allocations. Bring the next wave of propositions and new flows from VSS to Visa.Create alignment and integration with Visa for new products, solutions or partnerships go to market (such as pricing, contracting, working with sales enablement etc).Distil ambiguous, pressing problems or opportunities into clear, cross-functional plans of action and management across multiple potential scenarios.Sustainability Practice (65%): Lead the Sustainability Practice through it’s next horizon of growth and establishment as a VCA practice area in priority markets. Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the Sustainability Practice for VSS which is easily adopted by VCA, focusing on Advisory Services and Data Solutions (Managed Services TBD).This includes but will not be limited to developing case studies, practice areas, and set plays for consultants, as well as training and development content to create a scalable practice. Collaborate closely with key VCA stakeholders to identify and address sustainability practice areas that address VCA and VSS objectives of commerciality, highly desirable engagements, where Visa can credibly deliver and that have a positive people and planet impact. Participate in sales conversations as a sales specialist. Helping to guide client conversations, scope engagements as well as take part if the delivery of exceptional quality projects with clients. Nurture the Sustainability Practice team members. Instilling the VCA core competencies of high-quality work with valuable sustainability expertise that clients desire. Monitor and analyse sustainability trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices to keep Visa at the forefront of sustainability initiatives.Other (10%): Pick-up functionally important activities as required by the Global VP for VSS. This could include but not limited to, the preparation of public speaking events and business planning activities. Translate the VSS OKRs into action, ensuring we are on track, have the right senior stakeholder engagement, resolve blockages, and suggest methods to accelerate.Provide guidance and stewardship for initiatives across the team (outside of the big rocks and FY25 strategic plan enablement). This will focus on driving quality of insights and deliverables across Sales, GTM and Product. This can also include ensuring our internal and external narrative is consistent (including large events and speaking engagements). Key components of this include the ability to: Drive rigorous, fact based, quantitative and qualitative analysis to support recommendations or potential scenarios, ensuring strategic and financial soundness and alignment.Build strong relationships with cross-functional partners and make sure partners remain aligned and on target, including, rolling up their sleeves and helping teams when necessary. This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.Qualifications15 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an advanced degree (e.g. masters/MBA/JD/MD).A passion for sustainability and making a difference in the world.Experience in and/or significant exposure to the various components of the payments industry.Equal love of and ability to set a sound strategy as to be responsible for its successful execution.Aptitude for ramping up quickly across novel projects with little oversight and/or precedent.Capacity to lead beyond tenure, including teams of senior stakeholders.Ability to independently structure, lead and execute complex projects and processes, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of functional business problems and stakeholders.Ability to discern the key pieces of information and needed next steps from a wide range of opinions and data points to keep moving a project forward.Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor as well as attention to detail.Personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior managers and external business partners (including large external speaking engagements).Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a peer with functional and regional leaders within Visa.Self-starter, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities.Additional InformationVisa is an EEO Employer.
