- We are seeking a diligent and organised Stores person to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of warehouse activities, including receiving and processing incoming stock, picking and filling orders, packing and shipping orders, and managing inventory. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
- Given the nature of our Emergency Water business, this role requires significant flexibility to respond to urgent material requests and work additional paid overtime hours when required.
- The role expectations are as follows;
- Inventory & Stock Management: Maintain optimal stock levels, manage cycle counts, control special stocks (spare parts, slow/non-moving items), and ensure timely SAP system updates for material tracking and project cost allocation.
- Pick-List Preparation & Dispatch: Prepare, sanitize, and pack pick-lists for deployments (including out-of-hours), coordinate with Logistics for safe dispatch with accurate weights/dimensions, and handle urgent courier requirements.
- Equipment Maintenance & Testing: Perform maintenance, calibration, and testing of NTU meters, Prominent pumps, spectrophotometers, FSR/SDI kits, and conduct electrical inspections to competent person level; manage spare parts replenishment.
- Materials Handling & Operations: Load/unload trailers, manage hose inventory, handle chemical shelf-life, process water sample kits, receive/dispatch goods, deal with damaged returns, and operate forklifts/pallet trucks.
- Coordination & Safety: Attend project meetings, liaise with suppliers and departments for non-standard items, maintain H&S standards and cleanliness in storage areas, update information boards for on-call personnel, and serve as First Aider.
- Qualifications
- ● Proven experience working in a warehouse, stores, or logistics environment.
- ● Experience with inventory management software (e.g., SAP or similar).
- ● A valid Forklift Truck (FLT) license.
- ● Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- ● Ability to handle physical work, including lifting, loading and moving items.
- ● Good organisational and time-management skills.
- ● A good standard of general education.
