- We are seeking an experienced Staff Backend Engineer to join a global, distributed Developer Experience team. In this role, you will work across multiple engineering teams to identify friction points, improve workflows, and enhance the overall development experience. You will spend time contributing hands-on code in Ruby and Go, designing scalable solutions, and ensuring engineers have fast, reliable tools to build and ship high-quality software. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence engineering culture, implement best practices at scale, and support transformative initiatives that impact the efficiency and productivity of developers worldwide.
Accountabilities
- · Provide hands-on engineering leadership across multiple Developer Experience teams, contributing to high-impact initiatives and unblocking critical work.
- · Partner with engineering teams to identify pain points, gather feedback, and translate day-to-day frustrations into actionable improvements for the Developer Experience roadmap.
- · Modernize testing practices, ensuring fast, reliable tools that catch issues early without slowing development.
- · Optimize CI/CD pipelines to reduce friction, accelerate iterations, and enable confident shipping.
- · Collaborate with Platform, Product, and Infrastructure teams to eliminate systemic bottlenecks and streamline development workflows.
- · Promote a culture of continuous learning, inclusion, and improvement, where excellent developer experience is a shared value.
- · Deep experience with backend development and developer tooling, preferably in Ruby and Go.
- · Proven track record leading platform or transformation initiatives across multiple teams.
- · Familiarity with DevOps workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks at scale.
- · Strong written and verbal communication skills in a remote-first environment.
- · Ability to influence without formal authority and collaborate effectively across distributed teams.
