- As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Go and virtualization technologies, you will play a central role in advancing cutting-edge virtualization solutions that power enterprise-scale environments. You will develop, maintain, and optimize components across a full KVM and Kubernetes-based stack, contributing both to internal products and open-source communities. Working within a globally distributed team, you’ll engage with upstream projects, tackle complex performance challenges, and drive innovation at the intersection of cloud-native and virtualization technologies. This role offers an agile, collaborative, and open environment where initiative and technical creativity are strongly valued.
- Accountabilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance virtualization components across the KVM stack (KVM hypervisor, Linux kernel, kubevirt, libvirt, QEMU, libguestfs).
- Actively contribute to upstream communities, driving feature improvements and technology evolution.
- Integrate new features into downstream products and contribute to continuous build and release processes.
- Diagnose and resolve complex software issues, debugging virtualization layers to ensure optimal stability and performance.
- Design and execute test plans to validate features and benchmark system performance.
- Collaborate within a global, cross-functional engineering team across multiple time zones, ensuring seamless communication and progress.
- Work independently on high-level objectives while adapting quickly to evolving technical priorities.
- Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) and solid experience with Linux environments.
- Hands-on experience with containers and virtualization technologies (KubeVirt, KVM, libvirt, QEMU).
- Proven ability to analyze, debug, and resolve software issues in complex systems.
- Proficiency with Git and standard development workflows.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native ecosystems is highly advantageous.
- Experience contributing to open-source projects is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of multiple CPU architectures and additional programming languages is desirable.
- Excellent collaboration skills in distributed international teams; fluent in English (written and spoken).
