About
- About Rivian
- Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.
- As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.
- Role Summary
- As the Sr. Lead Program Manager, Field Service Materials Management, you are the central leader, field operator, and expert partner for defining the Service Center Parts and Materials Logistics Model, including inventory and control processes for specialized tools and equipment. This is a pivotal role responsible for translating the complex, raw needs of the field into clear, prioritized requirements for HQ, ensuring a collaborative and seamless relationship.
- Your mission is to establish and enforce a unified operating model, accountability structure, and clear standards for all Field Materials. You will ensure that all field-facing materials initiatives are perfectly tailored for seamless adoption and maximum efficiency in our service centers, driving measurable improvements in onsite inventory accuracy and overall materials flow.
- Responsibilities
- Drive Operational Response & KPI Strategy: Partner with Field Directors and Regional Leadership to establish new key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational benchmarks. Actively drive operational pivots and process improvements in response to these metrics, ensuring a dynamic feedback loop that turns performance data into immediate field action rather than just reporting on it.
- Orchestrate Strategic Decision Forums: Facilitate high-impact decision-making forums between Field Leadership and Senior Parts & Supply Chain Executives. Focus this rhythm on critical strategic pivots, resource investment, and long-term roadmap alignment, ensuring that the highest levels of the organization are synchronized on field service priorities.
- Own the Field Materials Operating Model: Define the long-term strategic vision for Service Center materials logistics, focusing on inventory control, material handling, and technician-facing availability of parts, tools, and equipment.
- Architect the Field Materials Playbook: Design, document, and continuously iterate the global, architectural framework and standards (SOPs) for field-based materials management.
- Act as the Strategic Partner & Liaison: Serve as the dedicated, single point of accountability and trusted partner for Supply Chain, Procurement, Tooling, and Digital/IT, focusing on strategic alignment and long-term requirement definition, not day-to-day issue triage or escalation management.
- Drive Service-Facing Systems Roadmap: Partner with Digital/IT to pioneer and champion the strategic roadmap, defining architectural and high-level requirements for inventory management systems that provide superior accuracy, visibility, and user experience for the front line.
- Lead Cross-Functional Programs & Excellence: Take full ownership of program managing all complex, joint Service and HQ initiatives, driving consensus and defining global standards for enablement programs that improve compliance, performance, and efficiency.
- Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive experience in a senior materials operations, logistics, or program management role, with a strong focus on inventory management, equipment control, and field operations.
- A proven track record of successfully managing complex, cross-functional programs and influencing senior stakeholders without direct reporting authority.
- Exceptional ability to synthesize complex information, resolve functional conflicts, and drive strategic consensus across disparate teams (Field vs. HQ).
- Deep, practical knowledge of inventory management systems (WMS/IMS) and operational process design.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
This is who you are
- The Strategic Partner: You excel at translating field reality into actionable HQ plans, fostering alignment and shared success with central teams.
- The Field Innovator & Operator: You possess deep operational knowledge, constantly seeking to automate, simplify, and improve the efficiency of every field material process.
- The Data Architect: You use data to diagnose systemic issues, build compelling business cases for new programs, and ensure every requirement is backed by measurable field impact.
