Project Overview I am looking for someone to build a simple mobile app that can display text in sequence and automatically highlight the portion that matches what is currently being spoken in the surrounding audio. Goal A usable prototype that highlights and advances text automatically based on live audio content. Future phases may include accuracy improvements and added features. Core Features Required - The device listens to live audio to see what line is being spoken and matches it to the database - Display text line-by-line (all data is in the excel sheet that acts as a database) - The app marks/highlights the line that most closely matches the audio in real time. It assumes the next line is in order but would need to verify this - Choose which style of line to display (simple toggle that relates to the excel spreadsheet) - Ability to manually choose or override the tracked line (simple control) The matching mechanism can be simple text-similarity logic. No need for perfect alignment — approximate matching should be acceptable. What I Already Have - Database of text lines - wireframe of Basic concept flow As the developer you will need to: - Build an interface to show the text - Implement audio → text recognition - Compare recognized text to stored text - Highlight the closest matching line Technology Flexibility - Audio→text can use any service (Google, AWS, etc.). - Possibly discuss translation feature (using Google Translate or another tool) Nice-to-Have (not required) - Offline mode involving search and manually scroll - Word-level tracking Skills Needed - Mobile development - Speech-to-text API integration - Basic text-matching logic Budget / Timeline Open to proposals.
