Learning Support AssistantHourly Rate: £15.55 - £18 (umbrella rate)Location: ThamesmeadJob Type: Part-time, Term-time only (Monday – Wednesday, 9 am – 4 pm)We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Plumstead. This role is crucial in providing essential learning and accessibility support to young people and adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those with severe and complex learning difficulties and/or disabilities.Day-to-day of the role:Provide person-centred learning support to students, facilitating their access to and achievement of learning programmes.Support students' access to all college services and activities, and facilitate personal development of learning/study skills.Work with individuals or small groups to encourage engagement with activities or to work independently.Assist with personal care and mobility as necessary, following instructions from learners regarding their support needs.Support lessons including Adult Maths, Functional Skills Maths, GCSE English, and Practical Hair Level 2.Required Skills & Qualifications:Good literacy and numeracy skills, with a strong understanding of both Maths and GCSE English.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, teachers, parents/carers, and other agencies.Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and an understanding of safeguarding, discrimination issues, and the challenges faced by those with learning difficulties.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.Good IT knowledge and sound administration skills.Experience of working with SEN learners in a secondary or further education environment is desirable.Benefits:Competitive hourly rate (£15.55 - £18 umbrella rate).Part-time, term-time o
