Key Responsibilities:

• Work one-on-one or with small groups to reinforce lessons, clarify instructions and assist students with specific learning tasks
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and managing classroom activities
• Actively implement positive behaviour support plans and use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour and promote emotional regulation
• Work as a crucial link between the teacher, parents and external specialists such as speech and language therapists or occupational therapists

Qualifications and Experience:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient, caring and positive attitude
• A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one
• Previous experience working with children in a school setting
• Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or working with children is desirable
