Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualised and small-group literacy and numeracy interventions, such as phonics and precision teaching, using pre-planned resources.
- Adapt and differentiate classroom materials (e.g., simplifying language, using mind maps, pre-teaching vocabulary) to match students' cognitive processing needs.
- Provide practical in-class support, including note-taking assistance, reading from the board, and checking comprehension.
- Manage and maintain assistive technology (e.g., dictation software, reading pens) and train students in their effective use.
- Support access arrangements during internal and external exams, acting as a reader or scribe where necessary (with relevant training).
- Liaise closely with subject teachers to ensure they are aware of students' specific needs and successful strategies.
- Create visual timetables and prompt cards to aid students with organisational difficulties.
What We're Looking For
We need someone with a keen eye for detail and a practical, educational focus.
- A detailed understanding of common SpLDs (Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia) and effective support strategies.
- Previous experience running targeted, evidence-based intervention programs (e.g., Read Write Inc, specific phonics schemes).
- High proficiency in English language and mathematics to confidently support secondary-level content.
- Demonstrable skills in using and troubleshooting educational technology and software.
- A meticulous and organised approach to resource creation and record-keeping.
- Relevant professional training or qualification in SpLD support is a significant advantage.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary and benefits.
- A warm, welcoming, and inclusive school environment.
- Ongoing professional development opportunities to grow your skills.
- The chance to be part of a team that truly values your contributions.
- Refer a Friend scheme where you could have the chance to earn a £300 Love2shop voucher - (subject to terms and conditions.)
