- As an Architect within the Loyalty domain, you’ll take ownership of a broad and impactful portfolio. You’ll be accountable for defining and realising the target architecture for your tribe, ensuring enterprise and system capabilities are fully aligned to business needs. Working closely with solution architects and principal engineers, you’ll guide architecture solutions end-to-end, shape technical strategies, and help prioritise delivery to achieve the right outcomes.
- What You’ll Do
- Design and implement complex solutions architectures that meet business requirements and drive efficiency.
- Evaluate existing systems and recommend enhancements to improve functionality and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create integrated solutions, ensuring compatibility and interoperability.
- Provide technical leadership and strategy throughout the project lifecycle, from proof-of-concept to production.
- Develop and maintain architecture documentation, including diagrams, standards, and guidelines.
- Conduct architecture and design reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
- Mentor and train junior architects and engineering teams, promoting best practices in system design and deployment.
- Work closely with project management to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Stay updated on technology trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to recommend new systems and solutions.
- Lead and inspire technical teams, guiding solution architects and engineers, mentoring future talent, and fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and inclusive architecture community.
- Shape technology choices and standards, drive vendor and tooling decisions, set architecture principles and patterns, and ensure solutions align with enterprise models, policies, and compliance requirements.
- Partner with business and product leaders to translate business outcomes into actionable architecture, influence priorities, and co-create executable plans that deliver value to customers and colleagues.
- Safeguard and optimise the technology landscape, ensuring security, reliability, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement—while driving innovation and measurable business impact.
- Who You Are
- Domain expertise across online browse and checkout experiences, underpinned by a flexible, decoupled microservices architecture.
- Proven architecture experience with significant hands-on delivery of large-scale digital transformation using Agile ways of working.
- Technical leadership at scale, with deep knowledge of architectural patterns, integration, platforms, and modern engineering practices, and the ability to evaluate and apply emerging technologies.
- Strategic influence, experienced in aligning technology, people, and process change to business objectives, with strong commercial acumen and a track record of driving enterprise-wide outcomes.
- Excellent collaboration and communication, able to build consensus across complex environments and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Risk, compliance, and change expertise, skilled at balancing innovation with governance, managing risk, and leading change through Agile and enterprise architecture frameworks.
- Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or similar role in a complex environment.
- Strong understanding of Solutions architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- In-depth knowledge of various architecture frameworks and methodologies.
- Experience with cloud technologies, particularly Azure, and expertise in cloud architecture.
- Solid background in software development and infrastructure design.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a focus on performance optimization and scalability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, continuous integration, and deployment strategies.
