About the job We are seeking a Software Engineer to support the development and optimization of an ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) system, with a focus on application setup, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes. Based in our London office, this role will be instrumental in ensuring robust integration of new features and maintaining a reliable and scalable system to support ongoing business growth. This is a key role within the team, responsible for driving performance improvements, promoting coding best practices, and contributing to the success of the overall development lifecycle. Key responsibilities Develop and integrate new components using C# and .NET Core Design and implement robust database solutions using SQL and relational database principles Build and maintain web services and API integrations to support trading operations Write clean, maintainable code following industry best practices and coding standards Set up and configure application infrastructure to support Application system requirements Utilise PowerShell scripting for automation and system administration tasks Provide improvements to existing processes to optimise system performance to support business growth Maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines and support the CICD process Monitor system reliability and scalability, proactively addressing potential issues Drive performance improvements across the development lifecycle Work closely with Windows Server administration teams, vendors, and internal application teams Collaborate with outsourced IT service providers to deliver integrated solutions Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Required qualifications Minimum 5 years experience in software engineering with a strong infrastructure and integration focus. Proficiency in C# and .Net Core development Strong knowledge of SQL and relation database design Solid understanding of web services and API integrations Experience with infrastructure setup and application deployment Experience with Agile methodologies Excellent English, native or equivalent to C2 level oral and written skills Preferred qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Additional experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery integrations preferred. Knowledge over Powershell and windows setup preferred.
