Telford & Wrekin Council is looking for an experienced Safeguarding Social Worker to join their dedicated Children's Services team. You will play a vital role in protecting vulnerable children, ensuring their voices are heard, and achieving the best possible outcomes for them and their families.

This is a busy frontline safeguarding role, requiring strong assessment, planning, and multi-agency working skills.

🔹 Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a varied caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need plans, and care proceedings

• Undertake thorough assessments and Section 47 enquiries

• Develop and implement robust, outcome-focused care and safety plans

• Work in partnership with children, families, and multi-agency partners

• Prepare high-quality reports for case conferences, reviews, and court hearings

• Maintain accurate case records on the council's systems

🔹 Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration

• Minimum of 2 years' post-qualifying experience in safeguarding or child protection

• Solid understanding of relevant legislation and statutory guidance

• Ability to work independently and manage complex caseloads

• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain)

• Car driver with access to own vehicle preferred
