Job Title: Safeguarding Social Worker - Children's Services
Location: Oldham Council, Greater Manchester
Salary: starting from £37,938
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
Manage a varied and complex caseload of children and families subject to Child Protection Plans and involved in Public Law Outline (PLO) proceedings.
Conduct high-quality single and multi-agency safeguarding enquiries and assessments (e.g., Section 47 investigations, Core Assessments).
Develop, implement, and review effective, child-focused care plans in partnership with families and professional networks.
Prepare and present accurate, analytical reports and evidence for Court proceedings.
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, including health, police, and education, to ensure a coordinated response to risk and need.
Actively participate in reflective supervision and continuous professional development, embracing our systemic practice model.
Requirements
A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW).
Current registration with Social Work England (SWE).
Proven post-qualifying experience in a children's safeguarding, child protection, or MASH team.
Thorough knowledge of relevant child protection legislation, statutory guidance, and court processes.
A commitment to working restoratively and systemically with children and families.
