- Job Description
- As a Shift Supervisor, you will oversee the shift operation, and work alongside the Shift manager to monitor picking rates, control shortfall and picking errors and provide coaching to ensure service levels are achieved to hit distribution greatness.
- Ideally, you will need to come from a warehouse/distribution background, solid experience of supervising both permanent & temporary workforce.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage a team of warehouse operatives to ensure their daily tasks are completed meeting the daily OTIF KPI.
- Plan and execute the day-to-day operational activities ensuring that picks, packs and despatches for distribution are managed effectively.
- Coach, motivate and develop your team to achieve objectives and comply with Company policies and procedures, addressing any shortfalls in performance.
- Practice and use lean principles to improve processes and remove non-value-added tasks & processes.
- To facilitate effective communication, across the shift through regular feedback and ensuring team briefs are conducted which ensure all colleagues are informed of site changes and have up to date business information.
- Ensure site security measures are enforced with staff and housekeeping standards, are met and maintained in line with Health & Safety and Quality Standards, taking prompt and appropriate action if any issues are identified.

What we are looking for you to have
- Previous experience of leading a team delivering against a targeted productivity, within a warehouse environment that includes pick and pack, order consolidation and bulk dispatch.
- Experience of working in an evolving environment where no two days are the same.
- Ability to define performance measures, analyse data to improve operation and reduce costs.
- Experience of working in a service lead, time critical environment where quality and productivity are equal.
- Be capable of explaining and justifying points of view, discussing options objectively, and handling difficult discussions with clarity and professionalism.
- Health & Safety awareness and understanding, and a commitment to safe working practices
- Demonstratable experience of working in an IT lead process environment
